Waipā District Council contractors will be connecting a new water main on Grey Street between 10pm until 2am, Wednesday, November 8.
In order to undertake this connection, the water supply to Kihikihi Village will be turned off for the four hour duration.
We recommend storing water for personal use during this time.
Once the water supply is back on, you may notice discolouration, sediment, cloudiness or additional air in pipeline as pressure is reinstated. Cloudiness and air bubbles are a result of a return to pressure. If the water sits for a few moments, the water will return to clear as air bubbles rise to the surface.
Discolouration and sediment are a result of build-up in household pipes, which are loosened when pipe pressure changes. We recommend running an outside tap for a few minutes into a bucket to remove any air bubbles and to restore water clarity. You can then use this water for outdoor use.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and every effort will be made to minimise disruption and restore the service as soon as possible.
If the connection is not made within the four hour duration, we will not go ahead with the T connection and will reinstate the section of cut out pipe again and plan works for some other day.
