Victoria Bridge in Cambridge will be closed to traffic
overnight from
7pm on Sunday 17 December to 6am on Monday 18 December while
contractors finish the last steps of the bridge upgrade project.
Motorists travelling between Leamington and Cambridge
during this time can detour via the Ferguson Bridge
(low-level bridge) on Shakespeare Street. This will only add an additional five
minutes to the journey. One footpath will be open at all times.
The work includes a tidy-up on the bridge’s handrails and signage, and pavement repairs. It is the final step in the yearlong project to repaint and upgrade the bridge which will help to ensure it remains in good condition for many years to come.
