Carols at the Square on December 10
28 November 2011
Santa will be rocking around the Christmas tree on Saturday, December 10 when Waipa District Council hosts Carols at Victoria Square.
Event co-ordinator Benjamin Hemi said as the annual Christmas Concert at Lake Te Ko Utu was postponed this year, the council decided it was a great opportunity to organise an event to help keep the festive spirit alive.
It will be a great opportunity for us to roll out the picnic blankets and celebrate as a community, he said.
The entertainment lineup for the free event will include Katie Trigg from Ngahinapouri, Te Awamutu's Alice Gower and Guitarco, the LDS Young Men's Choir, Te Awamutu Brass Band, Katherine Parsons, Scott Martin and Jack Wallis from Cambridge High School, St Peters Emma Carpenter, the Waikato Modern Choir and the Rivertones.
MC for the alcohol free event will be Vicki Lee Wihongi. The event will be alcohol free.
Activities will start from 5pm with Carols from 6.30 - 9pm.
