Cracker opening day for library

Nearly 2,500 people poured through the doors of Te Awamutu's new library on opening day.
The library was officially opened on Friday by Waipa mayor Jim Mylchreest following an on-site ceremony.
Between the doors opening around 11am and closing at 8pm 2439 people visited the new $4.4 million facility. In between answering queries and assisting with new memberships, library staff issued 2351 items.
Regular library opening hours are from 9am - 5pm on Mondays and Thursdays, from 9.30am - 5pm on Tuesday, from 9am-8pm on Wednesdays and Fridays and on Saturdays from 9.30am - 1pm.
