Locations of interest confirmed in Te Awamutu; two new cases.
Two locations of interest in Te Awamutu have been listed by the Ministry of Health as part of the current COVID-19 outbreak. Two new COVID-19 cases were confirmed for Te Awamutu today.
The locations of interest for Te Awamutu are:
- Fresh Choice Te Awamutu, 39 Rewi Street on Tuesday, October 12 – between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
- College Superette, 943 Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu on Tuesday, October 12 – between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
- College Superette, 943 Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu on Wednesday, October 13 – between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
If you have visited these locations at the times listed, official advice states to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after the time of exposure. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve. For further information, check out www.health.govt.nz
A pop-up testing station is operating outside the Te Awamutu Events Centre, with entry off Mahoe Street, and will be open until 4.30pm. A pop-up testing station in Kihikihi Domain continues to operate from 10am to 2pm with entry via Gate 2.
Waipā District deputy mayor Liz Stolwyk reminded residents to make sure they were using the contact tracing app whenever they went.
“Here is an example of why we need everyone to be using the app, or recording their visits to locations manually. It’s the quickest way to trace where you have been.”
“I encourage anyone who has visited these locations, at these times, to monitor for any slight sign of symptoms and get tested. Symptoms can even be just a runny nose, so be vigilant.”
A pop-up vaccination centre is operating tomorrow at the Pirongia Memorial Hall, 997 Franklin Street, Pirongia on from 10am-3pm.
Vaccination centres in Te Awamutu are open today – Te Awamutu community vaccination centre on Arawata St is open until 3.30pm. Sanders Pharmacy, Unichem Marshalls Pharmacy and Te Awamutu Medical Centre are taking bookings.
The Cambridge community vaccination centre at Cambridge Community Marae is closed from today. Local vaccination rates are high with 86.6 percent of the eligible population having had their first dose and 67.3 percent fully vaccinated. Cambridge Medical Centre and Unichem Pharmacy Cambridge are both still offering vaccines.
