The Resource Management Act allows for District Plans to be changed and sets out the processes that must be followed. Plan changes can be initiated either by the Council or by members of the public (private plan change).
Examples of plan changes include:
- Rezoning of land.
- Adding to the heritage building schedule.
- Amending rules.
- Implementing Government directions.
