Regional Infrastructure Technical Specification
The Regional Infrastructure Technical Specification (RITS) is part of an integrated approach to development, subdivision and contracts across the Waikato region. It is managed by Co-Lab on behalf of nine councils across the region.
The RITS is a means of compliance with the Waipā District Plan and aims to provide greater consistency for all users, whether in Waipā or in one of the other Waikato territories.
It sets out infrastructure design and construction requirements and lists out the most common standards, acts and other key legislation that must be considered when designing and building public infrastructure.
It is a means of compliancefor resource consent conditions issued by councils to developers and their agents, and is widely used by engineering consultants, contractors and council staff. It is also used as the technical specification for some council contracts.
