There is a cost to the event organiser for traffic management plan applications to Waipā District Council, you can read more on that here.
Event organisers should complete and submit an Event Application Form to Council. This information helps us understand what's going on in our district. Waipā district has over 130 events each year and it gets very busy. Completing the event application form outlines what’s required of Council and the event organiser to ensure your event is a success. Currently and where possible, we request an event application be received by Council no later than 90 days prior to an event start date.
Some council processes take time, such as road corridor access and closures, these require at least 90 working days to complete the public notifying process and alcohol licencing which requires at least 20 working days. Make sure you know your timeframes.
Start the process – Event Application Forms
If your event will attract more than 100 people or requires parking and road controls, consents, and council permitting etc. you will need to complete council's event application form:
For private weddings/civil ceremonies, private events under 100 people, public events such as playcentre family days, require a parks application form:
For small events (under 40 people, with no equipment) the parks application form is not required. Please phone Customer Support on 0800 924 723 to advise your event details which will be noted in the Parks calendar(s).
