$60k for Waipa events

More than $60,000 has been allocated to events in the Waipa district.
At a District Promotions Fund meeting today, committee members agreed to support around 40 events ranging from the waka ama sprint nationals to dancing competitions.
To secure funding, events must encourage visitors, maximise the use of key sites and facilities, and encourage local residents to enjoy being part of the greater Waipa community. All the events d will be held before the end of June next year.
