Applications open for District Promotions Fund

Calling all event organisers . . .
It is that time of year when you can apply for funding from Waipa District Council's District Promotion Fund.
The $100,000 fund is aimed at attracting visitors to the district, encouraging better use of our key sites and facilities and giving residents the chance to enjoy activities close to home.
Events previously supported include equine activities, water sports, public displays, cycling and sports events, festivals and shows.
The maximum available for any one event is $10,000.
Event co-ordinator Benjamin Hemi said an information evening will be held in the Te Awamutu Council Chambers at 6pm on Tuesday, July 12, to inform event organisers on funding eligibility and ensure they are clear about council's expectations.
We want to make organisers know what council has to offer, and how we can support their event, he said.
Application forms are available here or from council offices and should be in by 5pm on Tuesday, July 31.
