Applications open for Waipa District Promotion Fund

Calling all event organisers, it's that time of year when you can apply for funding from Waipa District Council's District Promotion Fund.
The $100,000 fund is aimed at attracting visitors to the district, encouraging better use of our key sites and facilities and giving residents the chance to enjoy activities close to home.
Events previously supported include equine activities, water sports, public displays, cycling and sports events, festivals and shows. The maximum funding available for any one event is $10,000.
Application forms are available from council offices or the website and should be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 31 July 2013.
In addition to the annual District Promotion Fund, a special 150th Waipa District Commemorations Fund is also available to applicants planning events and activities to promote the 150th year since the district's formation. Grants are available in two funding rounds, closing 16 August 2013 and 13 June 2014.
Further information and an application form will be available from council offices or the website from 15 July.
Applications cannot be submitted to both funds for the same event or activity.
