Come and join us at Kite Day!
5 March 2013
Come Fly a Kite' with us this Saturday, March 9 at Te Awamutu's Albert Park.
We will host the free, fun event from 2pm to 5pm, with a prizegiving at 3.30pm.
The same will be held in Cambridge at the Leamington Polo Grounds on Saturday, March 16 also from 2pm-5pm.
You will also have the chance to check out more about what we as a council do.
The annual Kite Day is seen as a great way of celebrating everything great about living, working and playing in the Waipa district.
A number of Waipa businesses, including Bunnings, Pak n Save, New World, Mitre 10 Mega, Your Cambridge News and BNZ are supporting the events with prizes and in-kind support.
You can enter as many kites as you like. All you need to do is:
1. Make your kite (and make sure it flies!).
2. Register it on the day by 3pm.
3. Be there at 3.30pm when the judges announce the winners!
Once you've got the materials and tools together, it takes about an hour to make a kite.
Get creative and decorate your kite in a unique way using paints, markers and stickers!
