Epps likely election winner
11 February 2014
Initial progress results indicate that Julie Epps has won the Cambridge Community Board by-election.
Four people contested the by-election after local body elections in October 2013 left one vacancy. They were Julie Epps, Doug Taranaki, Erich Redder and Michael Cole.
Around 3,600 Cambridge ward voters cast their vote in the by-election, from a total of 12,600 eligible voters.
As at today (February 11), around 100 votes were on their way to the processing centre in Christchurch and were still to be counted. It is anticipated that final results will be released on February 14 2014.
