Events secure funding boost

More than 40 Waipa-based events have secured funding from the District Promotions Fund.
In the 2012-2013 year Waipa District Council allocated $100,000 to the fund, aimed at helping secure and promote events in the district.
The District Promotions Committee has allocated funds for events to be held in the Waipa district during the next 12 months. There were 53 applications received and 44 events were funded.
Members of the District Promotions Fund Committee are Mayor Alan Livingston, Deputy Mayor Grahame Webber, Strategic Planning and Policy Committee chair Laurie Hoverd and community representatives Mervyn Gyde and Kevin Burgess.
Fund allocations were made to the following groups:
