Liquor banned again

Temporary liquor bans will be imposed again this summer at the Mighty River Domain, Lake Karapiro.

It will be an offence to consume liquor on specific dates during organised events from November through to April.

This is the third year in a row the ban has been in place and follows positive feedback from event organisers, lake and domain users, local residents and police.

The temporary ban covers the entire 19 hectare domain with the exception of the Don Rowlands Centre and buildings belonging to sporting groups. The ban will be relaxed during 5pm - 9pm to allow visitors, particularly those in the camping ground, to enjoy a quiet drink over dinner.
