Waipa District Council's parks and reserves staff will today be continuing the clean up of fallen trees after strong winds buffeted the district on Saturday.
Team leader Max Ward said the after hours call centre received a number of reports of trees down or damaged as a result of the high winds.
Roads affected included Maungatautari Road, Taylor Street, Lake Road, King Street, French Pass Road, Arapuni Road, Flume Road and Hall Street in Cambridge and Hazelmere Crescent in Te Awamutu.
Mr Ward said some roads were closed for a period of time while contractors removed the trees and the clean-up would continue over the next few days.
