Waipa appoints a new Deputy Chief Executive
24 April 2013
A new Deputy Chief Executive has been appointed to help lead Waipa District Council into the future and he will bring with him a wealth of Local Government experience.
David Hall, who is currently the Chief Executive of South Waikato District Council, will join the Waipa team on May 20 and he is looking forward to picking up the reins of the Planning and Community Relationships Group.
A Cambridge resident, who previously lived on the outskirts of Pirongia for almost a decade, Mr Hall is excited about the opportunity to help in leading a local authority in his home patch and assisting to build on the district's strengths.
Waipa is one of the few districts that is continuing to experience growth and that makes it a really attractive proposition in terms of economic progression and planning for the future, said Mr Hall.
Mr Hall leads the Three Waters Strategy for the Waikato Mayoral Forum which is looking at the efficiency gains for this significant piece of infrastructure.
Chief Executive Garry Dyet said the calibre of applicants for the position, left vacant by Ross McNeil who was appointed Chief Executive of Rangitikei District Council at the end of March, was outstanding.
As a council we can take heart in the fact that Waipa is such a great place to live, work, and play in that we continue to attract high-quality people who add huge value to the district.
