Waipa Heritage Awards to be held in October

The Waipa Heritage Awards function that was scheduled for 25 July has been postponed to October 2.

Museums and Heritage director Anne Blyth said the postponement was to allow there to be a combined Awards Evening for the Waipa Heritage and the Waipa Biodiversity Awards

As a result, the closing date of the Heritage Award nominations has been extended to August 30. The call for Biodiversity nominations will open in July and will share the same closing date.

Ms Blyth said the Awards were a great opportunity to highlight the rich heritage of the district and to recognise those who were passionate about showcasing and preserving it for future generations.
