Waitangi Day commemorations at domain

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the Mighty River Domain on Waitangi Day to mark the start of Waipa district's 150th commemorations.
The day has been organised by Waipa District Council and offers a wide range of displays, activities and entertainment, including a free concert.
Community engagement advisor Wayne Green said Waitangi Day in Waipa looked set to be a huge family occasion and loads of fun for all ages.
There will be indoor exhibitions, motorbikes, go karting and classic car displays as well as a kids' fun area and jump jam stage, pony rides and eventing.
There will also be powerlifting, volleyball and sand activities, rugby and football all on offer as well as a number of water displays through out the day.
Food stalls and a market place will also provide refreshments and shopping opportunities.
A key feature will be the family concert from 4-8pm featuring a range of acts including the Te Awamutu Brass Band, Te Awamutu and Districts Highland Pipe Band, 100 Proof, Harry Parsons, Red Nite Sky, Sunday Best, The Big Muffin Serious Band, Anna Hawkins and country duo, Coopers Run.
Mr Green said while large crowds were expected there was plenty of parking on-site. The day begins at 10am and admission is free.
