Walk of Fame being extended

Te Awamutu's award-winning Walk of Fame on Selwyn Park is being extended.

Cambridge-based contractors Civil Construction Services began work on the extension this week to allow more space for future inductees.

The Walk of Fame was opened in 2009 with the purpose of recognising and celebrating Te Awamutu's outstanding achievers.

The extension works commenced on Monday and includes the construction of concrete footpaths, garden beds and the installation of street furniture.

The concrete footpaths are decorative and include coloured concrete and exposed aggregate.

The footpath works are programmed to finish in December with the planting of gardens to be completed next autumn.
