Water shutdown planned for part of Te Awamutu
9 July 2012
A water shutdown has been planned for part of Te Awamutu in the vicinity of Bond Road on the next two Sundays to allow for a new pipe to be connected to the water main.
The shutdown will take place between 8am and 4pm on Sunday, July 15 and Sunday, July 22.
Water Services Manager Lorraine Kendrick said the most affected areas would be Bond Road, Benson Road, Jack Russell Drive, Livingstone Brothers Lane, Bruce Berquist Drive and Warburton Crescent.
Areas that would notice a lesser effect, such as a drop in water pressure, would be Te Rahu Road, Pekerau Crescent, Loomb Place, the eastern side of Cambridge Road, Reynolds Drive, Ahier Street, Heaphy Street and Cameron Avenue.
A letter drop to notify affected residents was undertaken by the contractor last week.
Mrs Kendrick said residents were encouraged to ensure they had sufficient water stored for use during the shutdown period.
Once the work is complete residents should notice an improved water pressure, she said.
