Rates rebate scheme now open

Low income earners in Waipā who own their home and were paying rates and living there on 1 July 2020 could be eligible for a Rates Rebate Scheme discount of up to $655.

The Rates Rebate Scheme is coordinated by the Department of Internal Affairs to assist low income earners with the payment of their rates.

The rates rebate scheme is available to anyone on a low income and is calculated based on the cost of rates verses income. Each application is reviewed on a case by case basis.

All applications must be returned to Waipā District Council by 30 June 2021.
