Council makes changes to office hours
Waipā District Council’s offices will open one hour later from Monday in response to a reduction in face-to-face visits to its offices.
From Monday, 3 May, Council offices will open at 9am weekdays. This change is off the back of a review looking at how residents interact with Council’s customer support staff.
Communication and engagement manager Charlotte Fitzpatrick said since last year’s COVID-19 lockdown, people’s behaviour has changed.
“We have seen a reduction in face-to-face visits to our offices, but an increase in calls, emails, Antenno alerts and other social media messages. This trend has continued post lockdown,” she said.
“We’re not reducing the team’s hours or dropping our standard of customer service. We are just one of many organisations who are changing the way they do business to provide the best level of service to their customers. “
“This change will give our team an additional hour each morning to respond to emails and action requests, many of which come in overnight,” she added.
Council offices in Cambridge and Te Awamutu will be open 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday as of Monday, 3 May. Residents can still get in touch with Council 24/7 by calling 0800 924 723.
