Free webinar about new COVID-19 vaccination mandates on offer
A free webinar about navigating COVID-19 vaccination mandates in the workplace will be available online next week.
The free webinar, supported by Te Awamutu and Cambridge Citizens Advice Bureau’s alongside Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce and Waipā District Council, will be presented by Waipā local specialist employment lawyer and DTI Lawyers Director, Andrea Twaddle and moderated by Waipā District Councillor Susan O’Regan.
The webinar is aimed at managers and employers and was borne from hearing the challenges in the social service space, said Waipā District Council Community Advisor, Corren Ngerengere.
“We’ve been hearing from different sectors across the community about challenges they had been facing with the new vaccination mandate coming into effect. After seeing how well Andrea presented the information at a Cambridge Chamber of Commerce event, we wanted to bring this to the wider district. Thankfully Andrea agreed and together with the Citizen Advice Bureau’s and Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce, we’ll be offering this free webinar to interested people.”
Those who work with paid and unpaid employees are encouraged to attend to learn about the latest law and employment obligation as a result of the changing COVID-19 landscape.

Waipā District Mayor Jim Mylchreest said that the rapidly changing environment for vaccination mandates and workforces meant the webinar could offer valuable advice.
“The ever-changing landscape of the business world in these times, makes it a complex territory for managers and employers to navigate. It’s important to stay up to date and ensure you’ve got the right information and advice as we move through stepped alert levels and into the new traffic light system.”
Twaddle is a mother, business owner and legal professional. Andrea couples her real world working knowledge with her professional know how to provide sound and practical advice and guidance.
The webinar will lead attendees through meeting health and safety obligations, and acting in good faith, together with privacy issues associated with managing Covid-19 in the workplace. Topics include the government framework, employment law obligations, privacy, the law, health and safety and vaccinations
