Ride and Win with Waipā
To celebrate the opening of a further section of the Te Awa River Ride, Waipā District Council is running a Ride and Win competition for all path users!
The most recent section of the shared path opened on Tuesday 1 March and path users who snap a picture of themselves enjoying the Te Awa River Ride during March, and send it to Council, will go in the draw to win some amazing prizes.
The Ride and Win with Waipā competition began Tuesday 1 March, closing Thursday 31 March. Council has two bikes valued up to $1,000 each and four cycling safety prize packs up for grabs.
The two bikes were kindly sponsored by local Cambridge bike specialists Spoken Cycles.
Council’s Group Manager – Service Delivery Dawn Inglis, said we are excited to have a competition to celebrate the opening of this section of the shared path.
“It is great to have a local business get behind the competition and generously sponsor two bikes.”
Visitors can enter the competition by taking a photo anywhere along the Te Awa River Ride between Lake Karāpiro and the newly opened section north of the Grassroots Trust Velodrome.
Entries can be posted on Waipa District Council or Waipa Home of Champions Instagram or Facebook, emailed to communications@waipadc.govt.nz or printed off and dropped into the after-hours slot at a Waipā District Council office on 23 Wilson Street, Cambridge or 101 Bank Street, Te Awamutu.
People that are emailing or dropping their entries off will need to remember to attach their contact details and name to the photo.
Council hopes that the competition encourages people to get active and explore Waipā and the Te Awa path, with numerous spaces for picnics, areas of cultural interest, and places to stop and enjoy new views of the river.
