$75,000 available for Waipā creatives
Applications are now open for the September funding round for creative projects in Waipā.
The Creative Communities Scheme, funded by Creative New Zealand, is aimed at promoting, supporting, and increasing participation in community arts and cultural activities that will take place between 14 October 2022 and 14 April 2023. Each project must focus on at least one of the scheme’s three criteria; access and participation, diversity or young people.
Project funding can be used for materials for arts activites or programmes, venue or equipment hire, personnel and administrative costs for short-term projects, and promotion and publicity of arts activites. There is $75,000 available for distribution over two funding rounds.
Activities supported by the April funding round included te reo Māori classes, art exhibitions and music concerts.
A funding application workshop will be held at the Te Awamutu Library meeting room on 17 September from 9.30am-11am for any applicant who needs help with their application.
Waipā District Council community advisor Gina Scott said the workshop was a great opportunity to clear up any confusion about the application process as well as gain advice on what to highlight in the application.
“I recommend that all potential applicants come along so we can help them work out if their project meets the criteria and also to help them prepare an application that gives them the best chance of being successful.”
Funding application forms are available at www.waipadc.govt.nz/creativecommunities, and can also be collected from Council offices in Cambridge and Te Awamutu. Completed forms can be emailed to info@waipadc.govt.nz or dropped off at Council offices.
Applications close 5pm, 14 October 2022.
