Holiday hours

The Council offices in Te Awamutu and Cambridge will be closed from 12pm Tuesday, December 24, 2024 until 9am Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

If you have any enquiries you can still call 0800 WAIPADC (0800 924 723) at any time as our phone line is staffed 24/7.

If your recycling collection falls on Wednesday, December 25 or Wednesday, January 1, your collection will be picked up the following day.

Check your recycling day.

For rubbish collection, please contact your chosen provider – their details will be on your rubbish bags, wheelie bins or on the rubbish and transfer stations web page.

Under the Resource Management Act and the Building Act 2004, the period from Friday, December 20 to Monday, January 13 is excluded from the 20 working-day time frame for processing applications.

This means that any days within this period will not count as working days.

For example, if you submit a resource consent or a building consent application on Thursday, December 19, the processing clock will pause until it starts again on Monday, January 13 in the new year.

Under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, the period from Friday, December 20 to Friday, January 10 is excluded from the timeframes for processing requests.

This means that any days within this period will not count as working days.

For example, if you submit an information request on Thursday, December 19, the processing clock will pause until it starts again on Monday, January 13.

Waipā District Libraries will close at noon on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and reopen at 9am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Te Awamutu Museum Education & Research Centre will close at noon on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and reopen at 10am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

The Perry Aquatic Centre in Cambridge and the Livingstone Aquatic Centre in Te Awamutu are open every day over the holiday period, except Christmas Day.

  • Monday - Friday: 6am - 9pm
  • Saturday - Sunday: 8am - 7pm
  • Public Holidays: 8am - 6pm
