Road works and closures
UPDATE 2.45PM: George Street is now open.
We’ve been advised that George Street is closed between Arawata Street intersection to the Warehouse driveway, following a gas line being struck by a contractor working on private property.
Emergency services and traffic management are on site. We’re unsure when the road will reopen. For those with vehicles within the closure, who want to leave, you will be assisted by traffic management.
You can still exit the Warehouse driveway by turning right on George Street, onto SH3.
