Water Shutdown Thompson Street and Alley Place
There will be a water shutdown on Thursday 28 September, while we install a new water supply pipe connecting Thompson Street to the new Vaile Court driveway. The water will be turned off from 9am – 3pm, unless any problems occur.
If you are home, we recommend storing water for daily tasks: drinking (approximately two litres per person), general hygiene and food prep. To flush your toilet, you will need to store a bucket of roughly 10 litres of water. You can pour the water down the toilet or fill the cistern and flush using the regular flush system.
Once the water is turned back on, we will flush your main pipes, which can cause air to become trapped. We suggest running your outdoor tap for five minutes, capturing the water in a bucket and reusing it in your garden.
What to expect?
Weather | In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work will be postponed to Tuesday, 3 October. |
Traffic management | To ensure the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place. It will include a footpath, shoulder closure, and the restriction of some roadside parking. |
Noise | We will be doing all we can to minimise the impact on your household. |
