We are replacing water mains on SH3 between Shanel Place and the Mangapiko Bridge on Wednesday, April 23 between 1am and 1pm.
The timing of the work is so GT Civil can follow the safest method, with the least disruption to traffic. There will be road closures, noise, and access disruption to some residents during this time, as follows:
Racecourse Road to Ōhaupō Road SH3
- There will be short-term closures on SH3 between Racecourse Road and Ōhaupō Road between 1am and 3am.
- The pipe will be towed by a 7-tonne truck, with a loader in tandem.
- There will be some noise from the heavy trucks.
- The pipe will block driveways on Ōhaupō Road between Racecourse Road and the Mangapiko Bridge between 1am and 7am. See the map below. If you need access during this timeframe, please contact us on the details below.
Ōhaupō Road SH3 and Shanel Place
- Once the pipes are in position, from approximately 1.30am, the drill will be connected and the pipes pulled into position.
- This will create a lot of noise while the drill is running and the trucks are working.
- Work is expected to be completed by 7am.
