Waipa CEO reappointed
24 November 2015
Garry Dyet has been reappointed as chief executive of Waipa District Council.
Mr Dyet was appointed chief executive in August 2009 and his initial five-year term was extended for two years.
The position was advertised in early October and nine applications were received.
Mayor Jim Mylchreest said Dyet was doing an outstanding job and despite a number of very strong candidates, he was head and shoulders above the rest.
Garry has operated at a very senior level for some time and is responsible for a number of key initiatives, not just at Waipa but across the wider region, Mylchreest said.
He has a very strong passion for this role and for the district and that has come through in his work to date and certainly during the recruitment process.
Mr Dyet has been appointed for a further five year term.
