Funding opens for non-profit groups
Applications for funding assistance is available again to non-profit groups in Waipā.
The second ground of applications to Waipā District Council’s Community Discretionary Fund will open on Monday 6 February. Funds are administered by the Pirongia Ward Committee, Cambridge and Te Awamutu-Kihikihi Community Boards, and support community activities or projects in the Waipā district. Private clubs or businesses are not eligible for assistance from the fund.
This financial year, $49,600 was allocated to each Community Board for distribution, with a further $27,600 allocated to the Pirongia Ward Committee. In this funding round, close to $65,000 is likely to be available across the district.
In previous years, the funding has supported activities including safety gear for sports clubs, security upgrades, computer supplies and specialist health equipment.
This is the second round of the Community Discretionary Fund for 2022/23; the first round closed in September last year with close to $70,000 allocated. The average allocation was just over $2,000.
Decisions on this funding round will be made in April this year and all applications must be made on the official form. Application forms, funding criteria and further information about the Community Discretionary Fund is available at www.waipadc.govt.nz/funding.
