Community funding opens
Non-profit groups in Waipā are being encouraged to apply for funding support.
In the 2022/23 financial year, Waipā District Council has allocated $126,800 to the Cambridge and Te Awamutu-Kihikihi Community boards ($49,600 each) and Pirongia Ward Committee ($27,600) to be used for discretionary spending.
Most funding is allocated to community clubs, groups and organisations. Private clubs or businesses are not eligible for assistance from this fund.
Funding assistance will be prioritised and allocated firstly to one-off projects/fundraising events. Ongoing/annual operational costs will be given a lower priority.
Application forms, funding criteria and further information about the Community Discretionary Fund is available at www.waipadc.govt.nz/funding.
Applications close 5pm, Friday 25 August 2023.
All applications must be made on the official form and incomplete or non-compliant applications will not be considered. A second and final funding round for the financial year will open in February 2024 .
