Te Awamutu and Kihikihi Growth

By 2051, Te Awamutu and Kihikihi are expected to be home to 17,000 people. We've allocated 201ha of residential and large-lot residential land in Te Awamutu and Kihikihi, which would fit approximately 3,000 homes.

Here's where it's happening:

What’s underway now?

  • We're putting in a water booster pump station near the Frontier reservoir for the T1 and T2 developments
  • We're in the planning stages for a new roundabout for the T11 and T14 intersection with Cambridge Road.
  • The T3 and Bond Industrial areas are underway
  • The first development in T8 has been completed and sections will be available shortly. Other developments will be coming online soon.
  • T12 has been completed and is available for new business interest.
