We are required to administer the requirements of the National Environmental Standard for Managing Contamination in soil (the NES).
This involves us keeping records of any land that may have been associated with the use, storage, manufacture or disposal of hazardous substances.
Changes in the use of this land including subdivision, earth disturbance or change of use may require a resource consent and/or a preliminary site investigation to be undertaken.
To see if a site is on the selected Landuse Database as having a Hazardous Activities and Industries List (HAIL) use, go to Intramaps and select “Special Features” on the Environment Module.
