Lake Te Koo Utu, Cambridge
Tucked away in the heart of Cambridge, Lake Te Koo Utu provides a tranquil walking trail in an approx 1km loop around the lake. Several lookout points and a children's playground make this pushchair-friendly walk perfect for young families.
How do you spell this?
The local tangata whenua use the Waikato-Tainui dialect when te reo Māori is written, with a double vowel to indicate a long sound rather than a macron. Council's references to this Iwi and its significant placenames follow this convention, the most notable being Lake Te Koo Utu (instead of Lake Te Kō Utu). Our signage and other collateral is being updated as it needs replacing, so some variations are still in place.
